Not to let it ruin our day, we set off back up the hill and walked a couple of hours up the Queen Charlotte Track, which was a great walk with superb views, ending in a fantastic lookout at the highest point, from where we could see right over all the Marlborough Sounds all the way back to Picton. The weather had cleared up again, and in the end we were glad that we’d done the afternoon’s walk instead of polluting the atmosphere with the noise and fumes from a puny little 4 hp outboard motor!!! J
Back at the campsite, a few more people had turned up, so we asked around for jump leads. No-one had any, but a very jolly Kiwi bloke offered to give us a push. The usual thing happened when someone starts to push a vehicle, everyone joined in!! So with seven of us pushing, Bongo was

up and running again first time, we then parked on a downhill bit just to make sure in the morning!! Turned out not to be necessary though, as he started first time with no problem at all!! We said goodbye to Cowshed bay, and after a couple of fabulously scenic lookout points, we said goodbye to the Marlborough Sounds, until next time on the way back!! A couple of hours drive, and we would be at our next destination, Abel Tasman National Park.
