CHRISTCHURCH
done with. So we were back on the internet, the internet then crashed and took what seemed like an age to reboot, we were on borrowed time as Rob hasn’t reserved the appointment and we were concerned that it might get taken. There were actually two appointments available so we were keeping our fingers crossed that both wouldn’t be taken - arrrrhhh stress city!!!! It was only 8.30 am, we had actually only been up for about half an hour and not even had a cup of tea!!! Finally the internet kicked into life and we started checking flights - ouch they weren’t cheap, we had a couple of options, sod it and pay the money so we wouldn’t cut short our time in Fiji or refuse the appointment and hope they had one at a more convenient time. Never ones to delay decisions we decided to pay for the flight and take the appointment - the cost of the flight to Auckland would work out the same as it would for us to change our round the world ticket dates but it would mean we would get to spend our allocated time in
Fiji, which we wanted to do. Also It would cost less in the long run as Fiji was less expensive than New Zealand. So Rob was back on the phone, and thankfully the call was again answered quickly, one of the appointments had already been taken but there was still one available - PHEW!!! Rob took the appointment and with a huge sign of relief put the phone down, the one thing left to do was book the flights. With the advice of the campsite lady we decided that as the appointment was at 10.00 am Rob should fly up to Auckland the night before and stay over, avoiding any possible delays or cancellations, the only problem with this was that the 10th May was our one year travelling anniversary!!! But hey-ho, what could we do? Our bottle of fizzy would have to wait for another day! We then went back on the internet to book the flights, he selected the flights he wanted put in all of his details, pressed the continue button only to find that his credit card was still frozen!!! We were both feeling a bit stressed
