ST PETERSBURG
and Christian and of course me and the Robski! After our meeting and very much leg pulling by Noah we were free to explore the city once again. We had said we would take in the museums and do the culture thing but it was such a beautiful sunny day we thought it would be criminal not to go and check out Peterhoff, the summer palace of Peter the Great. This palace has been described as having the best fountains in the world and believe you me it did not disappoint! We took the hydrofoil as its 18km out of the city out in the Gulf of Finland, we spent a beautiful afternoon wandering around this amazing place, check out the photos.
We met up with the rest of our group later that evening and went for blini (Russian pancakes) and that’s when I had my first Russian beer! Later that night we boarded our first overnight train to Moscow, again the trains were far better than we had thought, I really do

think the guide books are unflattering towards Russia, yeah OK there’s certainly the usual big city dodgy dealings and you certainly wouldn’t mess with them but no worse than a lot of places I could mention. Anyway back to the train, we had an 8 hour train ride to Moscow and we all very giddy when we boarded, we were sharing with Jason and Chantay, the cabins are very compact and cosy, managed to sleep fine and awoke to Noah telling us we have 30 minutes before the train arrived in Moscow.
