DALI
honest after the heat we have encountered it is quite a relief to feel a drop in temperature.

Dali is a lovely old place, full of charm and character and thankfully has all its old building intact! We had a very chilled stay here, just pottered around checking the place out, its really beautiful and nice to see that some of old China is still being preserved. It is quite touristy but the tourists are at least mostly Chinese except for us of course!

As usual we could have spent far longer than we did here, the accommodation was so nice it made you not want to leave, we also had free internet which was cool and meant we could find some time to start looking at information for India, as we were beginning to start thinking that it would be better to get to the Indian Himalaya rather
than try and battle the monsoons of Nepal, if the rain and cloud cover here was anything to go by then the views in Nepal wouldn’t be great. At least the Indian Himalaya are almost rain free as they are shielded by Tibet - I think!

We all had a really great time here, it was the first time for what seemed like ages that you could just relax, but in no time at all it was time for us to pack up bags and move on, except this time we were only packing a 3 day travel bag as our luggage was being transferred to Leschang whilst we were heading off to Tiger Leaping Gorge for our 33 or 45 km trek!
