ever been too and I doubt there are many places like Laos left in this world. We have met a host of people who have said the same and I know a few people back home have also said the same. Laos is unique, beautiful and unselfish, the people don’t have much in comparison to the western world but from what we have seen they seem an awful lot happier.

We arrived at Chiang Rai feeling a little delicate and not really up for doing too much. We didn’t have long there as our flight back to Bangkok was leaving the next evening at 21.15. When we arrived I more or less went for a lie-down and stayed there for a good while. Rob checked out some stuff on the internet but neither really felt like doing much so we just pottered around the hostel which was lovely, although neither of us felt like using the swimming pool which was one of the reasons we’d chosen

The next day we ventured into town and it was a lovely little place, we had a good wander around and ended up finding a lovely European style café for dinner, just what we needed, some plain European style food!!! Rob said that the Salmon he had there knocked my Mum’s off the top of his “best Salmon ever” list! (He says sorry Mum! - you’ll have to make do with the pastry!!)

Our flight was delayed by a couple of hours which meant we wouldn’t get into Bangkok till well after midnight, not a problem as our hostel had 24 hour check in. We finally arrived at our hostel at around 2.00 a.m. and we didn’t really care by that point what it looked like we just crashed as soon as we got there.
