were back with smiles all round (even Mum!!), and the rain had just started to fall. This time it was only a short shower though, which was good because we wanted to head off west along the canyon to Sunset?????? point where apparently the sunset was at it’s best.

The sunset didn’t disappoint tonight, it was truly a fabulous sight!! It was a very popular place to watch it from , and we were part of a fairly sizable crowd, but it didn’t really spoil it. Equally as wonderful as watching the sun go down was watching the colours change in the canyon as it set. Afterwards there was a bit of a scrum to get on the shuttle buses, but we eventually got onto one and within no time found ourselves back at the Bright Angel Pub once again enjoying the dulcet tones of Chicago Mike! None of us could really believe that our three weeks were up and it was our last night together, so we decided that we’d

eat it in the nicest restaurant for a farewell meal. Once again the food was delicious. Even Dad loved it after his initial trepidation about them not having chips on the menu!! Hey this is the USA - all you gotta do is ask!! Another bus ride and we were back at the campsite chilling with a bottle of wine and a few Elk who were wandering around the place!! Then it was off to bed for our last night of camping for a good while!! We’d like to say thanks to our little tent for looking after us so well no matter what conditions we threw at it!!

The next morning Andy and I cooked up an enormous breakfast to set them on their way, then we went and checked into our room, which was uncannily identical to Mum & Dad’s!! Packing the car was a whole lot easier without us and most of our stuff, and suddenly it was time for some lengthy and teary goodbyes!! We’d had such a great time with Mum & Dad
