BUENOS AIRES
frock!! Who’d have though it!?!

Back to reality though and we needed tickets for the ferry over to Uruguay, and surprise surprise the online booking system didn’t work, so we had to opt for the old fashioned way of queuing up for ages and dealing with a human. All in all though it wasn’t too unpleasant an experience, and we were soon out of the office and at large in the city again! We wanted to have a look at the pink palace, BA’s answer to Capitol Hill. A quick tube ride got us there but we were surprised to find a large demonstration going on. It all looked fairly peaceful, but we’ve found that you can never be too sure with big gatherings in foreign countries so we took a few discreet snaps and moved on. We opted for checking out Plaza Dorrengo in San Telmo, around the corner from our hostel. Sadly we’d missed the Sunday Antiques fair, but we had a quiet beer and were treated to another impromptu tango performance. This really whetted our appetite for the coming evening and we headed back to the hostel to get spruced up and kitted out in our new C & A outfits!! Granted I had to wear my new shirt with my hiking trousers and Keen sandals may not have been what Hel would have ideally chosen as the best accompaniment to her new dress, but we felt the part as we headed on down to the Taconeando, our Tango venue.

We were greeted by a very jolly host and shown to our table,
