PENINSULA VALDES
containing some very large over-boiled root vegetables, and not a pancake in sight!! We were mystified by this, and left the place feeling distinctly dissatisfied!! We cheered ourselves up with a game of pool in a different pool hall than the first one, which was far less like a youth club!! We paid a visit to the local museum, which although very small was pretty good. The town is twinned with Nefyn in Wales, where Hel’s Aunty Chris has a caravan, and she wanted a postcard of the place. Whilst perusing the selection in a local shop we found that most of them were of a nice looking beach area which we hadn’t seen, so decided to walk down to find it. Sure enough we came across a pleasant beachside bar where we watched the world go by with yet another pizza. Pizza has definitely become a theme for veggies in meat loving Argentina, and although this one was nothing to write home about, it beat a bowl of sloppy root veg by miles, and soon it was time to wander up to get our bus to the other side of
Argentina, to Bariloche in the Lake District!! We will never forget the couple of days we’d spent with the amazing Southern Right Whales, but now it was almost Christmas, and time to move on!!
