RIO GALLEGOS & USHUAIA
Antarctica stuff and headed down to the Antarctica visitor centre. After grabbing a bit to eat we had another wander around then headed back to the hostel. For a change I cooked that evening and we had a lovely chilled evening with some great food, a bottle of wine and one fantastic sunset. We were also on a mission to make sure that every battery we possessed was fully charged. Various DVDs were burned in the vain hope of creating some extra space for all of those wonderful photos we would be taking in the 12 days! We are drastically running out of space on our laptop and mini hard-drive and it feels like it’s a constant battle to find enough room on each device. It has got so bad that Rob has had to clear half of his music off his MP3 player to help create space! Of course if I still had my Ipod then this would have helped but alas it is somewhere in Brasil with it’s new unauthorised owner.

got woken up a couple of times during the night by nature’s wrath and it was still unrelenting when we woke up. It was particularly horrid weather so we put off going into town for as long as we could, but when we could put it off no longer hey presto we managed to get a lift off the hostel owner. That day we purchased everything extra we thought we would need. We bought some extra thick socks, waterproof gloves, hat, seasick tablets, a book on Antarctica and Rob got some new ear bud headphones! We also checked internet and paid our deposit for our wellies, then headed back to our hostel and retreated from the miserable weather. Later that evening we packed and listened tentatively to the howl of the wind!
