LA SERANA & BAHIA INGLESA
before we found it - suddenly we were joined by several pairs of dolphins either side of us. This was the first time we’d seen dolphins, and I’m afraid that our photos are not the best, as unlike whales, dolphins move so fast that all the ones we did get were either blurred or missed!!

On reaching the island we were treated to our friends the seals and sea-lions and their accompanying stench!! There was also lots of really cool seabirds, and of course, our personal faves, the Penguins. These were virtually identical to the Magallenic variety we’d seen near Punta Arenas, except that they only have one stripe on their necks instead of two. Again the photos are not so great. We were worried about the water splashing into the boat, so only took our small camera with us. Still, we figured we don’t have any shortage of photos of penguins!! We ate our lunch at one of the islands on a very
pleasant beach and had a good walk around before returning to the shore and making our way back to the bus.

The journey onwards to Bahia Inglesia was very long, and we stopped at a big supermarket at around 6.30. We were told to stock up on everything we would need as Bahia Inglesia was a tiny place with no real shops and we would be there for a couple of nights. So with a minibus full of food and beer we spent the last hour or so in pretty cramped conditions travelling the final leg. Spare a though at this point for Chris, who dropped his pack of beer and every single bottle broke!!! Ooops!!!

Bahia Inglesia means English Bay - apparently we landed there at some point in the distant past and no doubt caused some trouble. These days though it is a popular holiday destination for
