place either we decided that as it was still early we’d go off an find somewhere else. The person behind the reception didn’t seem to happy with our decision but as they were on the phone and we just left the key on the counter there wasn’t a lot they could do!!

We checked out a couple of hostels but they were really no better and quite expensive, and had no guest kitchens, so we ended up staying at a hotel, Hostal San Francisco, which although slightly more was really a very nice place and much better value for money. We chilled around for a couple of hours before deciding to venture out and check out the place. Pretty much just as we headed out the skies turned black and the heavens opened!! So that was pretty much it then, we were stuck in our room for the day. Lucky we’d decided to go for somewhere nice. We spent the afternoon catching up with diaries and watching our satellite
TV!!

Even though the place was a hotel, they had offered to let us use the kitchen if we wanted, but as we had been in the room all day we decided that it would be nice to go out for tea. We found one of the typical Chinese cafes of this part of South America and had a late lunch / early tea of noodles and rice and then headed to the pub!! Actually it was a Dutch run bar called Joyriders, and a thoroughly nice place as well!! We enjoyed a good few beers and then headed back to our lovely hotel.

In the morning I headed out to the market across the road from us to buy breakfast. We feasted on cornflakes followed by cheese and avocado butties before going out to explore the city a little. After a session in a frustratingly slow internet café we decided to take a look at the museum of indigenous arts, which was a fascinating little place and
