SUCRE
showcased all the weaving styles of the indigenous groups around this part of Bolivia. There are actually a large number of different groups, all of whom have their own style of weaving and the textiles they produce are simply magnificent!! The colours are so vibrant and the intricacy is just astounding!! I really couldn’t get to grips with how these things are made, and even though there were a couple of ladies demonstrating their weaving techniques, even after watching them for ages I was still none the wiser!! They had a shop selling locally produced fabrics and other products, and although we could have quite happily bought everything in the shop the prices were a little too high for our budget.
Hunger was now setting in and as we were still feeling a little hungover we decided to go for the traditional remedy of chips, rice and curry sauce in another Chinese café on the main square.

Once again it wasn’t quite like we get at home, but it was particularly tasty and finished off with some gusto, even if the curry sauce was an alarming colour!! At this stage our bites were still driving us absolutely mad!! They really were the worst insect bites either of us had ever experienced, and Hel’s in particular were very bad - they were to leave scars for quite some time!! We didn’t do much for the rest of the day as the rains came again that afternoon, so more chilling and an early night were in order.
The morning of our last full day in Sucre was blessed with bright sunshine, so we decided to climb the hill up to a plaza which overlooked the city. It was a lovely place, with lots of market stalls, local people chilling and kids playing football. It was great to see that many of the budding David Beckhams were in fact female, and giving the lads a good run for their money as
