beautiful. We had a walk down the beach and even had a little paddle - the Indian Ocean is really warm here - we decided against a swim though!! There was a picnic table overlooking the beach which came in pretty handy as we’d brought a picnic!! We then did a loop drive through the park on the way back and headed home for dinner.

Tonight was the Champions League final and we’d spotted a sports bar in town so we went out to watch it. Turns out that the bar had just opened and the staff in there were really lovely, they gave us a free cocktail and then later on we even got a free plate of snacks!! It was really nice to be able to go out to a bar and watch the football after so long just stuck in hostels!!!

On our final morning we decided to do our boat cruise at 11 o clock.

Unfortunately the boat that we had tickets for had done a 9 o clock trip instead, but the captain spoke to another operator and we were allowed on with him instead. The boat trip was great, we sat on the top in the sunshine and saw African fish eagles, herons, crocodiles, crazy jumping mullet, and finally the highlight, two families of hippos!! Apparently they laze around in the water all day but then at night when they come out to feed they are often seen walking the streets of the town!! They say they’re not to be messed with though - hippos are really dangerous, and cause more tourist deaths in Africa than any other animal which is a strange fact seeing as they are vegetarians!!

So after our boat trip we were ready to head off to our next, and Mike’s last destination, the Dolphin Coast. It was hard to believe that Mike only had two nights left, it seemed like he’d only just arrived!! I think
