DOLPHIN COAST & DURBAN
This was good as it wasn’t somewhere we wanted to go to. The hostel was really nice and right by the beach, which was a safe place.

We had a little walk around and got chatting to a lifeguard who showed us all the damage which had been done back in March when a cyclone had hit, they’d had huge swells which had torn down part of the sea wall!! We decided that we’d have one last braai that afternoon so Mike and I nipped to the Spar for some supplies while Hel finished off the photos. Mike hadn’t brought his camera so we wanted to get some onto DVD for him to take home. We had a great last braai and then it was time to get Mike to the airport. It was a very sad goodbye, Mike looked proper glum as we waved goodbye to him, he’d had a really great time and we’d really loved seeing him again. At least it wouldn’t be too long before we saw him
again,

We managed to get back before it got too dark, and had a chilled evening and an early night before next morning’s drive up to the Drakensburg mountains, northwest of Durban and on the border with Lesotho. They are home to the highest peaks in Southern Africa and we were really looking forward to doing some walking again, it felt like so long since we’d last had a good walk.
