KATHMANDU
again!

We hadn’t expected to stay long in Nepal but due to the awful monsoon’s that India had been having we had started to think it might be a good idea to stay in Nepal and go to India at a later date. Nepal also hadn’t been experiencing much in the way of monsoon, apparently it had been the driest monsoon season for years - who says the weather isn’t changing! We had checked out a place called Pokhara which is Nepal’s second city and is described as having a great lakeside ambience and is also close to one of the world’s best trekking locations - the Annapurna range. So we decided we would go and check it out for a couple of days, you could get an air conditioned tourist bus which took about 8 hours and included lunch, so we went and got our tickets for the mighty price of £6! Our hotel was able to recommend a place in Pokhara and sorted out a room for us, we would be met off the bus which would save us from the endless amounts of hotel
touts that meet the bus on its arrival. We left Kathmandu at 6.30 am, walked to the bus station and waited to board our bus and were very much looking forward to some nice relaxing days by the side of a beautiful lake!
