either end by a rocky headland, and right on the beach are wall to wall "cocohut villages". The cocohuts are great, made out of bamboo and palm leaves, they range from simple affairs with sandy floors to grand structures with attached bathroom. We decided to go for somewhere in between. We found though that competition for the seafront huts was already fairly fierce, and we had to settle for one set back for the first night, but then moved to a seafront one in the morning. Our huts were on stilts, with just a bed and a table, but they had the bonus of electricity, which meant we got a much needed fan! It was fantastic staying right on the beach with the sound of the sea so close, but we had a very interrupted nights sleep due to the incessant howling of the very significant canine population on the beach!! Speaking of which, the owners of our huts had the most adorable pair of little puppies, who took every available opportunity to be fussed as much as possible, and were so cute when they curled up together
and went off to sleep!!!
The vibe at Palolem was great, with loads of beachfront bars and restaurants serving cheap beer and food, which again was truly superb, and we spent many a happy hour sitting watching the sea on our beachfront balcony. We also enjoyed the best Italian meal we'd had on our travels, complete with homemade pasta, wood fired pizzas and parmesan imported from Italy! After four nights there though we felt it was time to move on, and Hel's dislike for sand had started to come into full effect, so we headed back up to Myc's. The eventful journey involved four local busses, and the first one was involved in a race with a rival bus, which was a most hair-raising experience!!
