ARIZONA
and then headed back to Sean’s just in time for a good few glasses of wine with Sean and Kamen!!
Sean’s house is in an amazing location. The area around is desert but still has some greenery, and it is set on top of a hill, with views in all directions. You can see the mountains in the distance, and the weird rock formations of Sedona closer by. One of the things I enjoyed most about Arizona was the thunderstorms, and there was no better place to watch them but at Sean’s! These were among the best storms I’d ever seen, and Hel and I had a kind of unspoken competition over who could get the first photo of lightning. It was very late one night when a huge storm passed right overhead, and I won the competition, much to Hel‘s annoyance!! (Only kidding darling!).

tourist attraction to Sean’s was a place called Montezuma Well, a kind of water filled crater which is fed by an underground river. It was apparently formed when a huge underground cavern collapsed. It pours out of one end and there is the remains of in irrigation channel constructed by Indians. All impressive stuff! The other local attraction was the pub!! It was a new sports bar that Sean had never been to, but we spent a very pleasant night there with Sean - just like the Ducie Arms in the old days!!
We had a couple more productive days, we started to catch up with the website, and did loads of research into our South America stuff. We had been checking out a South American air pass, and needed to speak to a travel agent about it, and as luck would have it, there was an STA travel in Phoenix. We’d wanted to go and stay for a couple of days in Tucson as well, so decided to combine the two
