BARILOCHE
bus!
We decided to open a bottle or two on Christmas Eve and had a very pleasant time reminiscing about nearly 20 months of travel. We also decided that we would have enough money left for us to take in our last continent, Africa. We decided to not bother with the Galapagos Islands and Central America, a tough decision but we figured Africa would give us a whole new travel experience and allow us to complete our aim of the whole 7 continents. We got very giddy about the prospect of seeing all of that wildlife and we somehow managed to get rather tipsy and went to bed far later than we ever imagined!
We made some early morning phone calls then headed back to bed as Santa hadn’t been and left us any presents!!! We had a very chilled out Christmas Day, it was a lovely sunny day and it was really good to just chill around in the garden and

apartment. We made a few more phone calls but our internet connection was so dodgy it was untrue. To get the connection you had to sit in the window (good job we had a bottom floor apartment) with the laptop positioned at a precarious angle and hope that it didn’t start raining! Rob is very disillusioned with the internet in South America, it really does seem to have a mind of its own which can be very frustrating at times. Later on Rob cooked a great Christmas dinner. It was slightly hampered by him only having a two ring cooker, but the result was delicious and we washed it all down with a nice glass of wine. We have both been so impressed with Argentina’s wine selection, it is so cheap and so good. I will very much miss Malbec wine when we head off out of Argentina for the final time. After dinner we settled down and watched a couple of films and had a fairly early night.
