BARILOCHE
naturally I looked at it. Now this is not what you want to do when you’re in Argentina because if you so much as look at a dog it means that the dog is your new best friend and it will follow you wherever you go! It was on our tail and there was no shooing it away. It followed us all the way to the entrance to the walk where a sign clearly stated that dogs were not allowed. We didn’t really know what we should do so we pointed in the opposite direction and shouted ‘go away’ in the hope that it understood English!!! Thankfully some more unsuspecting walkers were heading to the entrance and the dog decided it was time to make some new friends. We hurried off around a corner and thankfully the dog didn’t follow us. We had a great walk through some beautiful woods, then we headed up to a couple of viewpoints which offered outstanding views across the mishmash of lakes over to the snow capped peaks. It was a fabulous warm and sunny day but the wind was fairly fierce. We then headed back towards the bus

The next morning was as sun filled as the previous days so we thought it would be good to head out to Cathedral. Cathedral is a snowboard and skiing resort in winter which is June and July! By summer like the Alps it turns into a hiking paradise with chairlifts that whisk you up to the top of the mountain. It was a fairly clear day and we decided to head off a walk first before we checked out the highest café in Argentina! We were well above the snow line but the snow was fairly patchy as it was so warm. Again the wind was unrelenting and at times it did feel like a bit of a battle with the elements. We had a good walk but decided not to head up to the highest point as there were some very dark clouds looming and we didn’t fancy getting a soaking. We were treated to some great views over the
