PUNTA ARENAS & PUERTO NATALES
couple of bottles of wine and the curry tasted even better than it smelled and it was fantastic to be eating some top quality food once again. We had a great night and introduced Phil to Yahtzee. This was the final night with Phil as he was heading off to Mendoza the next day, so we said our goodbyes and made some vague arrangements to meet up with him in the not too distant future.

When we woke up the next morning we both felt full of colds and were highly delighted that Doris had decided to share her cold with us. I spent the rest of the day carrying on with diaries but it felt a real come down after having such a wonderful time.

The next day was spent in much the same way. Our colds were in full swing and we both felt terrible. The weather was as grotty as our colds and the wind
and rain was relentless, so another day was spent doing diaries and generally feeling sorry for ourselves. We packed later on as it was our last night in Argentina. We had already booked the bus to Punta Arenas and were wishing we hadn’t, the last thing we wanted was a 12 hour bus journey while feeling full of cold.

We set the alarm and had to literally drag ourselves out of bed. We still felt awful and we knew we had a long day ahead of us. We took a taxi to the bus and somehow managed to lose our packed lunch! Some crafty dog had pinched it when we were getting our rucksacks out of the taxi! We were totally confused by what had happened to it, but then when we were sitting on the bus we noticed Rob’s condiment box laying on the pavement near to a chewed carrier bag! Well I hope the damned dog enjoyed our leftover veggie pizza!
