KATHMANDU
29TH JULY - 3RD AUGUST
Still chuckling at the thought of me bursting into a rendition of a Kenny Rogers song, we found ourselves hurtling towards the border in a little flat back Rascal van, we came across some sort of traffic jam and were surrounded by people wanting to take us to Kathmandu. The price range varied greatly and there was mention of a landslide so we weren’t quite sure whether the landslide was a blag to get more money or a true reality. Our lift dropped us off just before the border and again we were surrounded by potential lift givers, there was one guy who was particularly persistent and I said I would consider his price and let him know. It ended up with 6 of us in this old banger, 3 in the front and 3 in the back! We looked at each other and thought OK !!! We sped off and felt the suspension creaking as we bounced our way along the dirt road until we got to the area which had after all suffered with a landslide, so out we got grabbed our bags and walked across the landslide which was quite tricky in places! Safely on the other side there seemed to be some confusion as to what was going on, we were told to put our stuff in a red car which we were stood near and told to wait there! Our fellow passengers did the same but they were Chinese and so was the
