another few people wanting to see this place and after asking if we could take some photos from a distance and being refused we were told that we could get in, but we would have to go and walk around the right side of the road until we saw a smaller road leading down another entrance! So after a few people asking a few questions the army man gave in and told us how to get in - only in Laos do they seem so chilled about things! We found our way to the entrance without any difficulty and wow was it worth it? The first glimpse of the 45 metre golden spire is breathtaking and the surrounding buildings are equally as impressive. We took our time wandering around and as you can imagine took a fair few photos so you can check them out for yourselves to see how impressive this place really is!

After this it was time to grab a snack so we flagged down a tuk tuk and went back into town. The tuk tuk man
tried to explain to us that couldn’t read maps because his eyes were bad and he didn’t really understand where we wanted to go but immediately went a different way to which we had walked so we didn’t have a clue where we were! But after some great map reading by Rob we found ourselves back in the heart of town, where we grabbed a baguette and headed back to our room for a spot of lunch and a chill.

The afternoon was spent going round the remaining Wats, which were all within a short distance of each other. There were some very impressive and grand buildings and everybody seems so friendly that it was just a pleasure to be walking around this places and stopping to chat to people who seemed to be so very interested in us.
