We spent the next morning being lazy and writing some more diaries, and then got the train into Brisbane after lunch, and had a general wander through the city, which was pretty pleasant all in all. Walking through the pedestrian centre could have been Market Street in Manchester, complete with the Body Shop, Accessorise, McDonalds & Tie Rack!! Still it had a good vibe, with buskers, street artists and a few bars in the middle of the street. We decided to check out the botanical gardens, a great feature of all Australian Cities, and this one was no exception. We wandered round a picturesque lily pond and through a yet to be planted rose garden, down to the river where there was a mangrove boardwalk, with loads of interesting info. We were quite surprised when our beer was served in proper pint pots - just like home!!! Infact it was Hel’s first ever actual pint of larger!!! It was soon time to head back though, and we took full advantage again of our apartment!!
