QUEENSLAND COAST
Garden, which was in the process of being vandalised by some yob type youths, and a house which had been brought over brick by brick from Southampton for reasons not interesting enough to remember. (It was something to do with long distance flying - Hel) Just to top the day off when we got back I went to cook and the weirdy beardies had been fishing and the kitchen was full of crabs and prawns!! Good job Hel had decided not to go in there!! As you can tell, we weren’t overly impressed, and were glad when we got the bus out to Neilson Park.
The new campsite was on the coast and rather more pleasant. We had a little look around, and found the start of the walk to Mon Repos, which we’d been told was unmarked but quite easy. After tea we gave it a go, and after 20 minutes easy walking we got lost!! Suddenly the path wasn’t so clear, and we ended up backtracking a couple of times, until we

We were told to wait in the building and the rangers would call us as soon as there was any activity. As it was nearing the end of the season, there was only the possibility of seeing the baby turtles hatching, we were a couple of months too late for the mothers lolloping their way up the beach to dig holes with their flippers and lay the eggs. We had a bit of time to read some of the info about the turtles, and even in this short
