THE PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY
wander around the lovely Santa Cruz, we headed for the beach and the famous funfair! It was really crazy seeing the fair and it did kind of remind us of Blackpool! We wandered around but neither of us being really funfair type of people we soon found ourselves wandering back into the town and starting to wonder whether we should stay and eat here instead of heading back to the campsite straight away. It was a lovely little town and neither of us were in a hurry to get back so we stopped at a little Mexican Cafe and got a top nosh for a very reasonable price. We then headed back to the car and made our way back to the campsite. We had both been very impressed with Santa Cruz and could easily understand why it was so popular.

The next morning we again drove round the visitors centre as Rob wanted to call Cath and his Mum and have a chat about there forthcoming visit. After speaking with them we
weren't quite sure what we wanted to do. I thought it may be a good idea to drive to Monterey and check it out, unfortunately it was quite a lot further than we thought. Neither of us were particularly impressed with it, the wharf area was very touristy but Rob managed to eat his way round due to the fact that they were giving away free samples of Clam Chowder! Who knows how many cups he had but he was rather full by the time I dragged him away! We then had a little walk around the town which was OK but nothing really special.
We got stuck in traffic on the way back to Santa Cruz and we both had that kind of feeling that perhaps we shouldn't have bothered going there at all - but hey you can't win em all!

When we finally reached the campsite we decided to go for a walk around one of the many trails. After dinner we made us of the free
