THE CANADIAN ROCKIES
covered face changing colour from bright white through orange and pink and finally to a gorgeous deep red.
The next day we were all sad to leave Mount Robson behind, and had a long drive to Lake Louise, back in between the Icefields and Banff. There weren’t many people at the campsite there, so once again there weren’t many neighbours. We drove up to take a look at the lake with it’s famous hotel, which was as ugly as the lake was beautiful!! We found a pub in the town and had one final meal out, followed by, you guessed it - one last party night!! We’d had a good few boisterous nights it has to be said, but after all we were all making up for lost time!!

Our last walk in Canada was another good uphill trail to Lake Agnes, high up in the forest above Lake Louise. Once again it was
another strenuous but rewarding walk, although we were distressed to find that the café at the top had closed for the season!! The walk back made up for it though, on the way back down Lake Louise turned some colours of turquoise which I didn’t even know existed!! The now familiar pattern saw us having a chilled and early night, before spending the morning cleaning the van and packing our stuff. After some very long and sad goodbyes we headed back to Calgary, dropped off our van and checked into the Best Western Airport Motel!! There wasn’t much around there, and as we’d already seen Calgary, we stayed around the motel for the day. Luckily it had a decent internet connection, a good pool and hot tub, and a pricey but delicious Thai restaurant right next to the pool!! So we tucked into Pad Thai and green curry in a poolside location and had an early night due to our 4am start to catch our flight to Minneapolis.
