PARATI
waterfalls.

The waterfalls were fantastic, there was a little café beside the falls so we had a healthy sized portion of Papas Fritas and a fizzy drink each. After this we went to investigate the waterfalls and pools closer. Whilst looking very inviting the water was definitely far too cold for such a nesh soul as myself and even Rob needed two attempts at getting in. The look of complete horror on his face was enough for me and I knew that I’d made the right decision. Rob did a quick lap round the pool and an spent an even briefer time under the waterfall before getting out and claiming that the water was far too cold!

We weren’t entirely sure how far it was back as it was hard to judge after our detour up the hill but we knew from our aching limbs that it was time to start
heading back before we totally seized up! It took a good hour or so to get back and it was a relief to see Parati emerging in the distance. We decided to take the bikes straight back as neither of us thought we would be up for another bike ride. It had been a really good day and had cheered me up a lot.

We woke up the next morning to sun streaming through our shuttered windows - at last it was hot and sunny! It was too late for us to head off to Ilha Grande so we decided to stay put and enjoy Paraty for a few more days. We were up later than we thought and in fact the time seemed really weird, our clock and camera’s all said different times from the clock in the hall. We had set all the clock and cameras from this clock the day before so we thought they must have daylight saving time. We reset them all again and thought nothing more of it. By the time we’d had breakfast it was too late for us
