PARQUE NACIONAL LOS GLACIERS
up to the top so we were in time for our return. We were glad we’d done it though as from down here you really could appreciate the sheer height of this wall of ice!!! Once we arrive back at the bus it turned out that that was the end of our tour, and we weren’t going to do a hike as advertised, but we weren’t too disappointed, it had been an remarkable experience which we would never forget!! On the return to El Calafate we were treated to a free mug of Patagonian hot chocolate - they really do chocolate well in these parts - their hot chocolate is made by melting chocolate bars into hot milk!!!

So that was the end of our glacier tour. We had one more day in El Calafate, but like I said, it is a bit of a one attraction town, so the next day was spent generally chilling out and wandering around the area. Once again it was a very windy day so there was more diary writing done!! We were
getting the bus to Rio Gallegos the next day, our last stop before Ushuaia and Antarctica. We’d loved the Moreno glacier, it was the definitely the most impressive glacier we’d seen so far, but we knew that in a few days time we would be in Antarctica, and were quite giddy at the prospect of seeing the most impressive world of ice that there is!!
