ANTARCTIC PENINSULA
just sitting in the sunshine in such a magnificent setting and we could have stayed there forever!

Today was going to be even more special as this was the setting for the ships barbeque evening. We had this amazing place all to ourselves and tonight was going to be the night that fellow passengers and crew would let their hair down and share stories over a drink or two. All drinks were on the house so it didn’t take us long to get stuck into the free bar! Of course our little group gathered itself together and we were all in extremely high spirits. We forgot our differences and enjoyed everybody’s company and were quite amazed by some of the dancing displays that we witnessed!

This was and always will be the most remarkable setting for a barbeque you could ever imagine. After the
sun slid behind the distant mountains the air became colder and the dancing crowd moved indoors. We were having a great laugh outside and some of the stories were just plain hilarious! Especially the one about the Christmas pudding. One of our fellow British passengers had been given a free bottle of brandy in Libya and she said so flatly how she hadn’t really wanted it but it would come in handy for the Christmas pudding!!! It had me and Gary rolling around with laughter. It probably doesn’t sound funny now, but believe me the way it was told was comedy at its best! Our group decided to stay outside rather than partake in the dancing inside, it really wasn’t our kind of music. Some of the Russian Crew had made an appearance by this point so we decided it was time we got acquainted with these remarkable people.
