ANTARCTIC PENINSULA
dance floor had cleared in the bar and most of our fellow passengers had retired to bed, we decided it was time to hit the bar and enjoy a very drunken night of dancing with our new found Russian friends. We were definitely accepted into their group and we had a riot with them! One of the Russian Crew whom we had already nicknamed James Bond took it upon himself to offer us a tour of the ships engine room! How could we refuse? So myself, Rob, Phil and James Bond headed down to the engine room for a complete tour! We have a very funny photo of Rob with a beer can in one hand and the most enormous spanner you have ever seen in the other! It was incredibly loud in there and James insisted on explaining to me in broken drunken English how the machine that turned sea water into drinking water worked! I hadn’t a clue what he was on about and wasn’t quite sure that I was really that interested in how this marvellous machine worked! Thankfully after a good 10 minutes we moved on and finally exited the engine
room at deck level and made a hasty retreat into the bar. Back at the bar there was still much more singing and dancing to be had and I took some wonderful videos which again should hopefully appear on the website at some point fairly soon!
We dragged ourselves off to bed in the wee small hours of the morning and were not necessarily looking forward to our early morning wake up call!
Again this day had been out of this world. A truly amazing day with fabulous memories and we couldn’t believe that things just kept getting better and better!
