SALAR DE UYUNI DAY FOUR
realise how it was all formed was just magnificent. Rob is such a clever clogs or know it all depending on how you look at it - hee hee only kidding!!! But he has a far vaster knowledge of such things than myself, so you always feel like you learn something from places such as this.
Walking around this island was marvellous, the views were strange and the coral formations even stranger! There was a clearly marked path leading you to the top and around the rest of it. Seeing all of the white gave you a strange sensation as you felt like it should be cold as I guess we just always associate white with snow, but by now the sun was shining it was getting rather warm and there wasn’t a snow flake in sight! We took our time around the island and as usual took far too many photos, but what can you do when your lucky enough to see such a mind-boggling

After an hour or so pottering around we headed back down to the salt plain for breakfast. Christina had worked her magic and produced a wonderful spread with some exceptionally yummy cake and bread. It’s funny because I would have never thought of having plain cake for breakfast but after having it a fair few times in South America, and all those months ago in Fiji, I have got very used to it and it’s a very good breakfast food, especially with fruit and yogurt! We didn’t have the luxury of a fridge with us now, so it was just cake but that was good enough. The place was busy with everyone else doing the same but it didn’t spoil it one single bit.
After breakfast Hualdo suggested we all go for a walk around the island. We still had a good hour and a half here so he told us to go and make the most of it. A lot of other people
