BUENOS AIRES
We immerged from the metro and found ourselves in a leafy park which was very reminiscent of a much larger scale Didsbury! The sun was shining and the place was buzzing with people as it was Saturday lunchtime. BA has a wonderful vibe about it and we strolled through the park and took our time wandering the streets to the new hostel we’d picked. The hostel was fine, still not as nice as the first one we’d stayed in but it was in a great area and the views from the lounge were incredible. The hostel reminded us of a not so posh loft apartment as it was all open plan and had a huge window the length of the lounge. We wanted our last few days in South America to be as great as our time on this wonderful continent. After sorting out the hostel we made our way back and had a very relaxed afternoon and evening. We were both really cheesed off that we felt so rotten but I guess it helped our bank account!
The next morning we packed up and took a taxi rather than battling with an always busy metro. Poor Rob was feeling rotten but at least we knew that he wouldn’t be ill for too long! We did the Skype thing and Rob spoke to Russ which cheered him up! Then later that afternoon we went to check out the local area. The area around here was lovely and leafy and the park was enormous. We had a fabulous stroll through and ended up down by the lake. It was really busy due to it being Sunday afternoon and as ever Buenos Aires was showing its fantastic social side. It is an incredibly sociable city and the park was full of families picnicking and enjoying the sunshine. There was also a number of people boating on the lake in peddlos that seemed to have come from a different era! They were really old and rickety looking things but they floated and the people on them seemed to be enjoying themselves no end. We also saw Buenos Aires version of the Rialto bridge in V
