BUENOS AIRES
Malbec. I bet it is so expensive at home, if you can even get it at all but we are going to treat ourselves as soon as we can!
We ambled out of the restaurant around 12.30, it was still really busy and we were wondering how long it would take us to adjust to eating early again. Argentines make the most of their evening and you can rest assured that their kids are not tucked up in bed by 8 pm! I couldn’t ever really work out when they slept but I guess the kids make as much of siestas as their parents do. When I first witnessed kids staying up so late back in Asia I wasn’t sure it was a good idea but it does mean that the parents can spend real valuable evening time with them, but they can get a little rowdy and left to run wild at times, especially towards the end of the evening when the Quilmes or wine is flowing!!!

By the time we made it to the metro it was all closed as it stops running around midnight. This was no problem though and we just took the bus instead. The city never seems to sleep and it seemed almost as busy as it does in the day. Again the bus was as cheap and efficient as the metro and we were home in no time at all.
Our flight to Africa wasn’t until 20.20 so we had most of the day to explore a bit more of the city. The last place we wanted to visit was the waterfront. So after finishing our packing and having an ultra sweet sticky breakfast (it was free!) we headed to the metro once more. We arrived at the waterfront and were immediately reminded of Salford Quays or any other waterfront in the world that has had millions of pesos, pounds or whatever into it. It was all very pleasant but not unique. There were a number of inexpensive restaurants but we didn’t really have enough
