BUENOS AIRES

After watching a delightful sunset we ambled our way back to the hostel. That’s another thing about this wonderful city you always seem to feel safe. Obviously there are dodgy parts but in general it is extremely safe. Seeing women walking around on their own at midnight is nothing out of the ordinary and the people just don’t seem threatening in any way.

The next day Rob felt better. Good job as we only had two full days left in South America. What a scary thought! We were up early and had a day’s sightseeing ahead of us so after a quick breakfast we headed out. Our first stop was the Jardin Japones. We always love going to botanical gardens and although not a botanical garden as such, it was still a beautiful place. It was all very Japanese and we reminisced about our time in Japan and how wonderful that was. We pottered around
the gardens and enjoyed the warm winter sunshine. A particular bonus was that whilst browsing through the shop we found a pack of Japanese curry - a richer version of Chinese curry which we hadn’t seen since America!!

After this we started to walk into the main part of the city but it was just too far, so we jumped onto a local bus. This city is so massive that it boggles your mind and it is totally impossible to walk it! We wandered some more and headed down the main pedestrian street as we needed to do a bit of shopping. We were also on the look out for a nice all you eat and found a newly opened pizza and pasta place, which was superb. It was amazing to think that we had finally found a well cooked pizza in Buenos Aires!!!
