SWAZILAND
this was the brew. It was obviously very strong due to the alcoholic fumes in the air and the number of inebriated people. A jug was thrust into the liquid and then shared between us all. It wasn’t really very nice but I took a little sip so as not to be rude. Thankfully due to the fact that we were driving we couldn’t stop for long! This came as some relief as we didn’t really feel to comfortable there, not that it was dodgy in any way just that it was full of really drunk people and we were totally sober!

After the brewery it was time to make our way back. We had some fun on the way back making our bikes skid and weave along the tracks. I managed the incredibly bumpy road a lot better than I had at the start so was fairly pleased with my new found quad biking skills. Once we got back and took off our helmets and goggles it was time to wash our faces, we were covered in dust. It was nice
to feel water on your skin and wash away some of that dirt. After this we headed round to the main house and were served a wonderful meal of pap, chakalaka and spinach which was lovely. Pap is maize meal and is similar to baked cous cous. Chakalaka is tomato, onion, chilli and curry powder similar to oily salsa and the spinach was like, well spinach! It was a great way to finish a superb day, not only had we had some great fun quad biking we felt like we had seen a great slice of Swazi culture and helped out with the local economy as part of the money made from quad biking goes back into the local community.

The same taxi came back to take us back to the hostel and first thing on everyone’s agenda was to have a shower! After this it was back to the bar for a few beers and few games of pool. I have to say that I played particularly well and won most games of pool - unbelievable really but
