ANDAMAN COAST
top of it! We looked a wow, bright orange kayak and bright red life jackets, not to be missed, sadly no photos though! The islands that we had wanted to paddle out to were too far away and the man advised us to just potter around the coastline. It was the first time I had ever done sea kayaking and it was really good fun, a lot more relaxed than the white water rafting! We had paddled for what seemed like ages and were getting fairly tired and both had sort bums so we headed for a beach and went for a swim. The water was an amazing colour it was a little bit churned up because of all the rain but you could just imagine what it must look like in the full sun. It was definitely the nicest beach area I had ever seen and the water was so warm - heaven!

I’d had a brief encounter with it first thing but it really was too cold at 9.30 a.m. and most definitely more pleasant mid afternoon, so we spent the rest of the afternoon chillin, sortin out photos and trying to decide if we should stay another day or head off in the morning.
We decided to stay as it was so lovely and the weather had seemed to improve a little, so we spent the day checking out the local area and beaches. We walked up to a viewpoint which turned out to be a restaurant and got talking to the guy who owned it. In fact he was the only Thai to own property in that area, everyone else was Western! He was telling us about the Tsunami and how the wave hit and within 20 minutes most people from the surrounding area went to his place as it was the highest for miles around.
