LOUANG PRABANG
was a lovely sunny day and we both felt very relaxed and happy.

We checked out the Royal Place in the afternoon, which was extremely interesting. Laos doesn’t have a Royal Family anymore since it became a People’s Democracy so it was good to see how things used to be! They seemed a lot less stuffy than our lot but did have some rather grand items on display and parts of the palace were incredible. The grounds although rather small were very pleasant and we seemed to be there at the same time as an official Korean Party as there were lots of chauffer driven cars and official looking people milling around!

As it was a beautiful sunny day we guessed it should check out Csi Hill for sunset. It is a fairly small but steep hill with a small Wat on the top. It was a pretty hard slog up

It wasn’t the best sunset as it had clouded over slightly but it was still a great place to be and the walk down the other side of the hill was equally as impressive with some pretty spectacular buildings and a large reclining Buddha. We were fairly tired by this point so headed back to our room for a rest before venturing out later on for dinner and another wander around the magnificent night market.

We didn’t bother setting the alarm and fortunately woke up at a fairly respectable hour. The guest house also had a restaurant so we thought we’d check it out for breakfast. It wasn’t the worst but it definitely wasn’t the best so we gave it a wide berth from that moment onwards! We spent the rest of the morning at
