LOUANG PRABANG
more aching our legs were the more we would look forward to sitting down all day!!! So we planned to go over the river and go on a big circular walk which in all would take about 3-4 hours and take in a couple of temples.

The boat ride over the river was approximately 5 minutes so we were over the river in no time at all! It was a scorching hot day so we stocked up on water before we headed off into the unknown. We didn’t have a map which made Rob a bit edgy but he’d read up on the walk from the guide book and it seemed fairly obvious where we were going so neither of us were too concerned!

First stop was a mass of steps up to an old disused Wat, we were accompanied by 3 young girls who were really friendly and our unofficial guides!!! We knew they were only really after money
but these kids are so friendly that its rather pleasant having them follow you around and show you a thing or too.
Their English was fairly good, they told us all about their school and how they loved going, they also showed us a different way down and pointed us in the right direction for the next temple, so we gave them a few kip and we went our separate ways.

It was beautiful scenery and was fairly flat which made for very pleasant walking. We found our way around the loop walk and in the process of our walk we came across what we thought could be a wedding or some other kind of celebration. There was a band playing and lots of dancing and good times being had. We got a good few hello’s and waves which was nice, we didn’t really want to stop and get the camera out as we felt it maybe rather intrusive. After walking through a forested
