LOUANG PRABANG
an internet café as we still needed to get our Taipei - Tokyo flights and accommodation booked.
After the internet we booked ourselves onto a trip to the Kouang Si waterfalls. It was about an hours ride away in a mini-bus which wasn’t too bad. En-route we stopped off at a ‘traditional village’, which is more like a tourist attraction but we had a quick look around anyway. The road was a bumpy affair and our driver didn’t hang around so we got there in no time at all! In total we had around 2 and a half hours at the waterfall, which was by no means long enough. On the way to the waterfall we came across a tiger’s enclosure, infact we had seen signs for bears when we arrived and thought hmmmm sounds dodgy. But thankfully we were wrong and they had both a tiger and bear rescue centre. The tiger was out and about and she was an incredible beast, she was huge and she looked really lovely

and gentle from the safe side of the fence!!! They have two programmes running there, one for the protection of tigers and the other for bears They are for animals that have been captured by poachers, thankfully the poachers were in prison and the animals rescued and were being well looked after. Unfortunately the animals could never be released back into the wild due to them being raised from cubs by humans but they looked happy enough, and at the end of the day they were the fortunate ones.
After the seeing the tiger we carried on up the main hill towards the main waterfall. The waterfall was huge and there were loads of small pools where it was possible to swim. You could also swim in the largest pool near at the main waterfall so naturally Rob was straight in there! Rob said the power of the waterfall was incredibly strong and as that pool was fairly busy, I didn’t bother with it and
