KUALA LUMPUR
information centre as we wanted to book or at least look at trips to the world’s oldest rainforest. We found at trip to Tamel Nega (meaning National Park in Malaysian) to the Nusa holiday camp, it included loads of stuff to do, all meals and sounded ace. So we booked it for 4 days and 3 nights and were very much looking forward to it. After this we took the tube into town to Merdeka Square had a look around, then headed down to the National Museum, which was free and really interesting. We then headed towards the National Mosque which was an incredibly impressive building and then started walking up to bird park. We thought we’d go and check it out, seeing as it’s the largest bird park in the world! Just as we got to it the heavens opened and believe me it was monsoon rain all over again. So we quickened our pace and headed back down the hill towards the Islamic Arts Museum. It was a brilliant museum and we could have stayed in there all day. It was really interesting to get to see the true face of
the Muslim world and get a full insight to its history. It closed at 6 so we had to leave, it was still raining so we shared a taxi down to Central Market with a German/Australian lady. We ended up at Liquid Bar which is a really trendy place but it was having a happy hour so we thought we’d go and check it out. After a couple of beers it was time for dinner, Central Market has loads of really cheap eating places but after viewing them we decided that the really nice looking restaurant (Ginger) would suit us better. We had a gorgeous meal, it was the nicest food we’d had in a while, although it was quite a bit more expensive than we had planned, but hey you only live once!

After our meal we headed back to the hostel to find the Swedish lad who was sharing our dorm watching the football and to Rob’s delight it was City and not only were they on the telly but they were beating Man U. It
