CAIRNS & THE ATHERTON TABLELANDS
Unfortunately two of our fellow diver’s were sick, so all’s in all it had been an eventful day, what with Rob cutting his head on the way out there! The boat was rocking around all over the place and all I wanted at this point was to have my feet firmly back on dry land. It was a relief when we finally got back and docked, what a day, it had been good but not quite the mill pond and crystal clear waters we were expecting! The crew thanked each and every one of us and invited us down the local boozer later on for a few beers, we declined their offer and instead went back to the hostel, made a slap up meal, had a few beers and reflected on the day’s events! It had been a shame that we hadn’t been able to move on and see another part of the reef and it’s mad to think that that is all we were going to see of it, but the dives are expensive and it had been a real treat for us, even though it didn’t feel like it at some points!!! It had a swimming pool which was too cold for us to use and a large covered kitchen area, which was great for us as the weather was somewhat unpredictable in this whole region and it also meant that we wouldn’t have to buy gas again before we left Australia. The rest of day was spent checking out the local area, doing a small shop and chilling out, we’d had a busy
