CAIRNS & THE ATHERTON TABLELANDS
type of water you would fancy having a dip in!!!

The next day we moved onto Kuranda rainforest park. We were heading back to Cairns around 7.00 a.m. the next morning so thought we’d treat ourselves to a room rather than us having to get up extra early and faff around putting the tent down! The room was basic and in a shared block but it was good to have a bed and it also meant we could charge up our endless supply of various sorts of batteries!!! In the afternoon we walked into the village and even though it was rather touristy, it was still very pleasant and they had some wicked shops which were great to browse around. We did an internet session and got our campervan booked for New Zealand, we had managed to find a real bargain and due to this fact were able to book it for all of our time we were there. We had a chilled night and due to us having electric I caught up on some photos while
Rob cooked.

We were up and off dead on 7 a.m. we had to have the car back in Cairns by 8.00 a.m. as we were catching the 8.25 train to Townsville. We’d had a great time and it had been really good having a car again but from now on it was trains and carrying backpacks all the way down
