SYDNEY
was so annoying to be out and not wanting to be, time was taking its time and we were willing the rest of the night on!!! A few beers later we started to find the funny side to all of this and ended up having a good laugh!

After a fairly rubbish nights sleep, we were up early and eager to get out of the hostel. We had one more encounter with the fake hippy, who seemed to be in charge of telling people how to get their free cereal. He was blarting onto Rob about ‘hey brother, what number are you in the world?’ to which Rob growled at him and then thankfully he left us alone, and went off to annoy someone else. We were highly delighted to get out of there, but it just left us with a little time on our hands as Chantay was going out for a short while, so we had a few hours to kill. We put our bags in the lockers and thought we’d go check out internet and check out the coast. It was a sunny
day and Bondi was looking a little less shabby, there were loads of surfers and people doing various forms of exercise everything from power-walking (which Rob finds really silly!) to large hairy men running like maniacs along the beach and back!!! It was a posers paradise, not really our scene, but it was very amusing to watch. We walked around the coast which was pleasant enough. We had thought we would hire boogie boards but the surf wasn’t that good, (seen better in Cornwall!) and they were expensive so we gave it a miss. We did see a spray-painted tribute to all of the people who had died in the 2002 Bali bomb which was rather sobering as a lot of the Australians had come from the Bondi area. The rest of the day we spent chilling out on the grass bank opposite the beach. For all of Bondi’s downside, we did have a nice afternoon just watching the world go by.
Jason and Chantay came to pick us up and it was great to see them again. We went out
