NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
bear!

After us surviving the night we decided to throw caution to wind and book ourselves another night at this campsite!!! The location was fantastic to be fair and we knew that the other pitch was booked for the night so we wouldn’t quite to as isolated as we had been the night before!

We went on a massive 8 mile hike through the forest which was incredible; it was also good to have a nice flat walk! The forest seem endless and we felt that even though we’d covered a good 8 miles there was still a lot of forest to see, but the next day we were moving on again so that was as much as we were going to see. We had a very chilled evening and not wanting to chance our luck we were both in the tent again as soon as it went dark!

We were quite stiff when we woke the next morning but that was OK as the main activity for the day was to drive up to the Redwood National Park. It was a fair way but the drive was very scenic. We had a few places earmarked but nothing booked and ended up at Chinnook RV park, which was situated
right next to the Klamath river. We were both a little surprised that the main group of campsites weren’t in the forest but after the last couple of nights camping it was nice to be somewhere with full facilities and in open space rather than under the cover of the forest. At $16 the campsite was a real bargain, it had a games room, with free pool and internet which we made good use of!

As the campsite had limited shade we were up fairly handy and decided to have a nice lazy day! Some days even when you’re not working you still just need to
