phone the hostel, the taxi driver said he would wait as he reckoned he would end up taking us to the hostel and he didn’t want to leave us due to this misunderstanding (yeah right, he just wanted more cash - Rob!!)! Of course we had unloaded all of stuff out of his taxi so when Rob came back and told us we would have to get to the hostel ourselves, as the hostel driver had been waiting for over 10 minutes for us and had now left! So we loaded all of stuff back into his taxi and headed off in the same the direction as we had just been! We finally arrived at the hostel and the taxi driver charged us less than 4 quid so we really didn’t feel like we had been ripped off due to the 5 of us having 2 taxi rides and one of them being a semi tour of the city!

Arequipa backpackers our hostel seemed great and so did Arequipa. After a quick spruce up we headed out to get some dinner. We were all fairly
hungry as it was quite late and a long time since we’d eaten. We did get a snack on the bus but it was meat based so we were ready for food, poor Rob was beside himself. We immediately fell in love with Arequipa, it had a bustling plaza with a very impressive cathedral - all very Spanish but all very aesthetically pleasing. We found a great little restaurant that did incredibly cheap set meals so after a good feed and a couple of beers myself and Rob were ready to head back and chill while Andie, Pilar and Virginia had their dancing shoes firmly on and were ready to hit the salsa clubs and party!

After our ducking out of the salsa clubs we were up nice and early and ready for a days sightseeing. We did ourselves proud by having breakfast and being in a museum by 9.30 a.m. Some of you may find this hard to believe but it really is true!!!
