NORTH TO PERU
just sooner kick whatever they can find around the streets and no doubt pretend they’re tomorrow’s football heroes!
We felt that Arequipa was a very friendly little town, we had a good look around and stopped off for a Peruvian cappuccino which although a little milky was pretty good and very fancy! It was definitely better than the usual Nescafe you get served in most basic South American cafes. After our early start we thought it only right to do the South American thing and have a good old siesta. I had finally managed to swap Bill. Bill was the headache inducing book - Bill Bryson’s A Short History of Almost Everything, a book Russ had given to Rob in Canada. I tried my hand at reading it on many occasions, but it really wasn’t my kind of book so I managed to swap it for The Pelican Brief, which was a riveting read. My siesta gave me loads of time to continue on my mission of

finishing the book in the shortest possible time, due to the fact that it was almost impossible to put it down.
After my marathon reading session we bumped into Andie and decided to head off and check out the cathedral. It was so impressive on the outside we thought it only right to see what inside had to offer. Even though none of us our religious, we don’t mind checking out the architectural brilliance of some of the more spectacular churches and cathedrals we come across on our travels and believe me they are everywhere! It turns out there was a service on in the cathedral and as we didn’t want to be disrespectful we headed off to the nearest pub for a Pisco Sour and a game of pool! I had my pool shoes on and did fairly well beating Rob in the first game - always something to remember!!! Andie was pretty good on the pool front so it was a far more enjoyable way to spend the hour - thank
