NORTH TO PERU
heavens for daily mass or whatever they do!!!
Later that evening we went out for what may have become a final farewell meal. We were all heading our separate ways but we had a vague plan of meeting up in Cuzco a couple of weeks down the line. Andie was heading off to do the Japanese Colca Canyon tour, meaning that you see everything from a minibus in a day! She had a date with the Inca Trail so needed to check out the canyon in super quick time. Pilar and Virginia were heading off to do a 2 day tour then moving onto to Lake Titticaca and we were staying put and heading off to the Colca canyon in a day’s time. We went to the local kebab shop and had a wicked veggie kebab! The food in Peru was great and so very varied after the mundane choices that had been on offer in Argentina and Chile. We really hoped that our Cuzco plan would come to fruition and we’d all soon be catching up with each

Our final day in Arequipa was a chilled affair. We had wi-fi so did the internet thing and caught up with a few people on messenger. We had the dreaded website and email change over which seemed to go very smoothly, much to Rob’s delight. I finished my book and Rob went to the bus station to buy tickets to the Colca Canyon, and that was about it! Arequipa had been great, a wicked little town with extremely friendly people and it gave us a whole new look and feel of culture than what we had already experienced in South America. We were definitely looking forward to the rest of deepest darkest Peru and catching up with all those Paddington bears!!!
