SYDNEY
The tent episode took up most of the day and we had a very chilled rest of the day, thinking how funny it was to be camping again and how this tent was going to be our home in at least 3 countries and 2 continents!!!
We had a great sleep and woke up the next day feeling fine, we had a lazy day and booked the car. Our plan was to head south and drive down to Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road. We also booked our flights to Uluru (Ayers Rock), and although they weren’t cheap, we thought it would be criminal to come to Australia and not check out its heart and soul and the great red dessert. We also had a dip in the pool and generally lazed around.
This is when all of the days start blurring into one! We went for a wander and I started on the massive backlog of photos we had,
which believe me does take a lot of time to do, so I do hope you all appreciate them! Some day’s it can almost feel like I’m back in the land of 9-5!!! Hee he!!!
We woke up and it was our last day in Sydney. We packed up our stuff and headed off to find the car hire company. It seemed like hard work carrying all of this extra stuff by hand and in the heat. We had bought a holdall on wheels to carry the camping stuff which does make it a lot more easy, but we have definitely increased our travel load quite considerably. Feeling like a pack horse and looking rather hot we finally stumbled into the car hire centre. Not your usual Hertz customers we felt! We found out we had a little Hyundai Getz which is similar to a Fiesta or Punto, it was top to be back behind the wheel and it was over 8 months since either of us had driven. I soon realised I hadn’t lost my knack and before we knew it we were
