SYDNEY
good fun to be camping again and car hire is most definitely cheaper than campervan hire. We also knew that we would be flying to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and then onto Cairns as we didn’t want to do the massive drives. The first shop we came across was Snowgum and wow what a shop, we ended up getting everything from there. The sales guy was great, knew his stuff and gave us some hefty discounts and threw in a nice new top for yours truly!

Feeling very pleased with ourselves but then realising that we had totally forgotten to actually put the tent up we had just bought, but thought oh it will be Ok!!! We needed to go back to the shop in a few days time to pick up our sleeping bags as they had to be ordered in, and thought we’d get them to put the tent up then, so we weren’t too concerned that we hadn’t seen it. So we went to find the cheap veg market and stocked up on stuff, Rob loved it in
there but it was a bit too hectic for my liking. After this we were feeling in need a sit down, low and behold it was happy hour everywhere, so we plonked ourselves down with a beer and chatted away about our oncoming camping marathon in various continents of the world!

We headed back to the hostel and made our way up to the roof garden, had a few more beers then decided we’d go out for a pizza take-away, as the kitchen had closed!!! It was just one of those days when we needed to relax! In the middle of the night we were rudely awakened by a newcomer to our dorm. I’m not kidding you, he made so much noise it was incredible, he unpacked his whole suitcase, phoned his mate, hung all his clothes up after flapping the creases out of them, incredible! He woke everyone up and this was at 3.30 a.m!!! I was lying there thinking roll on camping. I’m not really too keen on the idea of shared dorms,
