VICTORIA COAST (EAST)
kept coming over to see what we were cooking, and asking when the steak was going on! They really didn’t have much of a concept of vegetarianism. After a few glasses of wine we didn’t really care anymore about the wind, we just thought it was all rather funny. The food as usual was top draw and it didn’t take half as long to eat as it did to make!
Later on we were confined to the tent again, due to the ever continuing onslaught of wind. Rob went to read his book in the laundry room so he could charge his phone and I sat in the tent catching up with some photos. As you have probably guessed this campsite didn’t have a common room or camp kitchen!

The next morning it was time to say bye bye to the absolutely fabulous Mallacoota. We really didn’t want to leave but we were
heading off towards Phillip Island, home to Koalas and Little Penguins.
It was too long a distance to drive to Phillip Island in one go, so we guessed Port Welshpool would be a good place to stop. Only when we got there did we realise that it wouldn’t be a good place to stop due to the fact it was dull, uninspiring, flat and windy, so a quick rethink took us to Toora. Which again wasn’t the best place on earth but it had a good waterfall in the nearby region and seemed OK for a night. We found a great campsite which had an indoor heated pool and spa! This was heaven, as I had a stiff neck! The camp kitchen was also great and Rob rustled up a fabulous roast dinner, our first proper roast dinner in a long time, complete with nut roast and Yorkshire Pud!!!
We visited the waterfall in the afternoon in a most torrential downpour, but thankfully
